My 5 Most Anticipated Games Of 2025

As you might have discovered in my previous blog, I’m a huge fan of video games. This year, the gaming world is buzzing with some incredible titles on the horizon, and I couldn’t be more excited. In today’s post, I’m sharing my top five most anticipated games of 2025—let’s dive in and see what’s got me counting down the days!

Dune: Awakening

This upcoming game is inspired by the legendary Dune series and brings an exciting twist as an open-world survival game. With multiplayer functionalities, it promises an immersive experience, making it even more thrilling for me to explore.

I’ve loved watching the Dune movies, and I’m planning to start the series soon, so I already feel a strong connection to the game’s setting. From what I’ve seen so far, Dune: Awakening has incredible potential, especially with its vast desert landscapes and rich lore.

As someone who enjoys open-world survival games, I can’t wait to see if this one will stand out in the genre for me this year. Here’s hoping it lives up to the hype!

GTA 6

Without a doubt, GTA 6 is the most anticipated game of the year for the gaming community—and yes, I’m one of those eagerly awaiting its release. However, it’s not quite the #1 game on my personal list.

For me, GTA brings back memories of the good old days: playing online with friends, spending long evenings completing heists, goofing around in the open world, and just having a blast. Those experiences have left a lasting impression, and I can’t help but feel nostalgic as I look forward to what GTA 6 has in store.

With today’s advanced technology and the time Rockstar has taken to develop this game, the possibilities seem endless. But therein lies the risk—expectations are sky-high, and there’s always the chance it might fall short of satisfying everyone.

Still, I can’t wait to see if GTA 6 will deliver on its massive potential. One thing’s for sure: this year, we’ll finally find out!

Mario Kart 9

I debated including this one on the list since it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. However, with the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, I feel confident enough to believe that Mario Kart 9 might launch alongside it.

Currently, Mario Kart 8 reigns supreme on the Nintendo Switch, and I absolutely love playing it. It’s one of those games that’s just as enjoyable solo as it is with friends. The concept is simple, yet endlessly entertaining, which is rare in a time when many games feel unnecessarily complex. Perhaps that simplicity is part of what makes Mario Kart so timeless.

Even if Nintendo opts for another update to Mario Kart 8 instead of a completely new installment (which would admittedly dampen the hype a bit), I’m still excited to see what they have in store. Whether it’s a fresh take or more of the same, Mario Kart never fails to bring fun to the table.

Football Manager 2025 & 2026

Football Manager has officially taken over FIFA/EA FC as my go-to football fix in gaming. However, this year brings an interesting challenge for the series. The delay of FM 25 to March has raised some doubts among fans, including me—especially since FM 26 is expected to launch just six months later.

That said, I think the developers deserve credit for choosing to delay the game rather than rushing its release. Far too often, games are pushed out the door to meet deadlines, leading to unfinished or underwhelming launches. While I’m not thrilled about the wait, I appreciate the commitment to delivering a polished product.

Despite the delay, I’m still eagerly looking forward to the next installment in the Football Manager series. Few games can keep me as engaged as this one, whether it’s scouting the next big talent, perfecting my tactics, or lifting trophy after trophy. FM 24 has been holding me over, but with promises of new and improved graphics and more features, I’m excited to see what FM 25 and FM 26 will bring to the table.

Here’s hoping the wait is worth it!

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Let’s be honest—no one is surprised to see this game on my list. In fact, it’s my #1 most anticipated game of the year, and I’m counting down the days until we get an official release date!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new Pokémon title, and I absolutely loved the direction they took with Legends: Arceus. That fresh, open-world approach breathed new life into the series, so I have no doubt that Pokémon Legends: Z-A will continue that trend.

What excites me most is its connection to Pokémon X/Y, two of my all-time favorite games in the series. I’ve always been disappointed that we never got a third installment for those games, but now it feels like the wait is finally over. The idea of diving deeper into the story of the Kalos region and experiencing it through the Legends lens is beyond thrilling.

If they happen to read my blog before the release (hint, hint), I’m confident they’ll deliver a game that will be remembered for years to come. Bring it on, Game Freak—this one has all the potential to be legendary!

And there you have it—my top 5 most anticipated games of 2025! Do you agree with my list, or is there another game you’re particularly excited about? I’d love to hear your thoughts
